Boy Dead, Woman Seriously Injured in Yaoundé Hit-and-Run Accident

A young boy is dead and a woman is seriously injured following a hit-and-run accident this afternoon at dispenser Nkozoa in Yaoundé.

Eyewitnesses reported that a Hilux driver lost control of the vehicle, striking a 12-year-old boy who was standing outside a refrigerator repair shop. The impact reportedly caused fatal head injuries to the boy. The driver then collided with a disabled woman who sells fried fish and ripe plantains. The woman sustained serious injuries in the accident.

“The car hit the boy and broke his head open,” said one witness. “Then it hit the woman who sells fish. The driver just escaped and left the car behind. We had to turn the car over because the woman was trapped underneath.”

This tragic accident comes just one day after a separate incident on Dschang Hill claimed multiple lives.

Local authorities are yet to comment on the incident, and details regarding the driver’s identification and whereabouts remain unknown.
