Breaking: One dead, vehicles set ablaze in Buea separatist attack

At least one person has died and at least four vehicles have been set ablaze this morning following a separatist attack in Mile 16, Buea, South West Region of Cameroon.

The inhabitants of the locality woke up this morning at about 5 a.m. to heavy sounds of gunshots.

The separatist fighters attacked the entire community because they were looking for a specific person who was of interest to them:

“They came to the bar in which we were, and it appears they were looking for someone in the said bar,” a witness revealed to MMI, adding that the successful attempt by the bar’s manager to seal the front bar entrance from the separatists provoked them.

“After sealing the front door, the manager successfully sent everyone out from the back door. This left the separatists unhappy.”

The attack, according to sources, lasted for close to 30 minutes and left one person fatally injured. The person died shortly after being rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
