A video of Brenda Biya, the daughter of Cameroon’s President Paul Biya, kissing another woman has gone viral on social media.
The video was initially posted on her Instagram account, Kingnastyy, but was later removed.
Brenda subsequently claimed in another post that her account had been hacked, but did not dispute the authenticity of the video.
The video comes days after Brenda Biya shared a photo of herself kissing her friend, the Brazilian model Layyons Valença. The 26-year-old said she was “crazy” about her girlfriend and wanted everyone to know.
Layyons Valença is the same woman she was seen kissing in the viral video that further reveals her lesbian status, which was previously unknown to many.
This revelation comes at a time when Cameroon, under her father’s rule, is known for its strict stance against LGBTQ individuals.
Article 347-1 of the Cameroon Penal Code provides for up to five years of imprisonment and a fine of FCFA 200,000 in the event of sexual intercourse between two people of the same sex.
Brenda Biya’s video has sparked significant reactions among Cameroonians, with some calling it a “disgrace to the nation” and others questioning whether she will face prosecution if she returns to Cameroon.
Brenda is the first child of President Paul Biya and his wife, Chantal Biya, who have been married for over 25 years. However, she spends most of her time out of the country.
This incident is not the first time Brenda has been involved in controversies that have drawn criticism from Cameroonians.
She has previously been seen in videos insulting her own family and smoking, among other contentious behaviors.
Following the multiple videos depicting her in lesbian acts, Brenda’s Instagram page has suddenly disappeared from the platform.
