Buea: Shock as University student takes her own life over lover’s ‘infidelity’

The entire University of Buea community in Cameroon’s South West Region was in shock on Thursday evening, after a female student decided to commit suicide.

The young girl’s action, came after an alleged an heartbreak from her lover, MMI has learned.

Sources have it that she was found on the floor screaming and vomiting blood.

It was later reported that the deceased had purchased rat poison to terminate her own life.

MMI is yet to independently verify why and how she opted to commit suicide — but the social media space has been inundated with diverse reactions.

Some are questioning the quality of education being thought in schools today, while others are questioning the role parents are playing to address today’s declining moral standards.
