Buea: Three of same family laid to rest after alleged food poisoning

A man and his two kids have been buried in Fungui village in the North West region of Cameroon after dying on the same day.

The trio, Fang Isaiah and his two boys, Prosper and Denis, died on January 2, after sharing a meal on New Year’s Day.

Originating from Bamessing in the North West region, they were resident in Mofou, a quarter in Buea, South West region.

Following suspicion of poisoning, their mother and wife who prepared the meal were immediately arrested and detained by the forces of law and order.

The corpses of the deceased were taken out of the Buea Regional Hospital mortuary on January 5, three days after their death. They were later buried yesterday January 6 after mass.

The exact circumstances surrounding the said poisoning remains uncertain.
