Buea:
Man Arrested For Allegedly Sexually Violating Eight-Year-Old Boy

A bar attendant in Buea, Fako division of the South West region is reportedly in security custody for allegedly sexually violating an eight-year-old boy.

The suspects whose MMI got only as Chitamoh is reported to have been arrested early Thursday February 3.


The man is said to have been rescued from an angry mob that wanted to beat him to death following an alarm raised by the young boy’s family. Chitamoh is said to have opted to help the eight-year-old in a school assignment when this happened.


It is reported that, the boy was later found unable to walk properly. Relatives of the pupil are reported to have raised claims that, he had been sexually violated through the anus.


The incident comes amid ongoing advocacy against child abuse which has multiplied within the Anglophone Crisis.

The Cameroon Baptist Health Services revealed had revealed in a three-year study published in 2019, that half of all children living in Cameroon have witnessed at least one form of child abuse.

The report cited physical abuse, sexual abuse, exposure to pornography, constant criticism and the withholding of praises from them, among several others.
