Bui Division: Soldiers burn healthcare facility in Kikaikilaki

Inhabitants of Kikaikilaki, Bui Division in the North West Region of Cameroon have been gripped by fear following several hours of gunshots on the night of Sunday breaking Monday March 1st 2021.

As they remained in their homes today Monday, they learned of the setting ablaze of a building hosting Life Abundant Primary Healthcare Project.

The building, residents of Kikaikilaki say, is situated near Saint Augustine’s College Junction in Kumbo.

“After the gunshots last night, probably between separatists and soldiers, this morning, soldiers began to randomly shoot the building believing that it’s a hideout for separatists. Their bullets ignited the flames,” a resident told Mimi Mefo Info on phone on account of anonymity.

This is the second fire incident in Bui Division in less than a month.

Last week, the Tobin Post Office was razed down by suspected separatists.

Bui Division is one of the worst hit areas in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon since the beginning of the crisis in 2016.
