Bui Division: Two civilians arrested by military found dead in Mbiame hours later

According to reports, Adamou Taf and his brother, Mumini, were found dead today, after they were arrested yesterday by the military in Mbiame village, Bui Division.

Inhabitants of Mbiame suspect military officers beat the two brothers to death. We are yet to independently ascertain this version.

Other sources however say the soldiers shot and killed the duo this morning.

Adamou Taf was a popular businessperson in Mbiame and locals say he was not involved in separatist activities in the locality.

The military has been on a continuous hunt for separatist fighters in Bui Division where the Amba boys have a stronghold of several villages.

Frequent gun battles between the Cameroonian military and separatist fighters have made traveling to the area very difficult for both natives and administrative officials, with transportation cost tripling.

Last month the paramount ruler of the Nso, the dominant ethnic group in the Bui Division, was kidnapped by separatist fighters, who warned him not to participate in the December 6 Regional Elections.
