Burundi clashed with Namibia earlier today as part of the African Nations Cup Group C qualifiers

Goals from Abedi Bigirimana, Caleb Bimenyimana & Hassan Shabani in the 1st, 9th, and 19th minutes, made sure the Swallows of Burundi took 3 points in their encounter with the Brave Warriors of Namibia.

Goals from Namibia’s Peter Shalulile and Wendell Rudath in the 41st and 85th minutes were not enough to earn them a point.

This victory increases the pressure on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon given that they will be encountering The Swallows of Burundi next and both have 4 points in the group.

Cameroon will, therefore, have to win their upcoming match against Burundi to stand any chance of qualifying for the AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast.

This match is set to take place on Monday the 4th of September 2023.

Rigobert Song’s men will have to give their best & win in order to book their ticket to Ivory Coast.

Failure to win this game will see Burundi qualify for the AFCON 2023 instead of Cameroon.
