Cameroonian Tech guru of international repute, Rebecca Enonchong is poised to emerge as Female Leader of the Year at the Business Insider Africa Awards.
She was featured in the Female Leader of the Year category. It seeks to recognize outstanding business leaders and entrepreneurs who regardless of gender are driving change, and making a significant impact in Africa.
The voting phase for the award has been on March 21st and will end Sunday, April 3rd, 2022 at 11.59pm West African Time.
Winners will be unveiled at an April 12th virtual event, organisers have announced.

The award-winning lady’s journey to the fore of Cameroon and Africa’s tech army has been challenging. Yet she has remained resolute and firm, making the most of every challenge on her path.
Her over two-decades-long time at the helm of the continent’s tech community have been a time of impact and growth.
This has been through her AppsTech enterprise and other ventures.
Enonchong has also spent much of her career promoting technology through nonprofit initiatives. She is founder of the Africa Technology Forum, a non-profit dedicated to helping technology startups on the continent.
She is also known to have used her voice to advocate for the rights of the downtrodden in many instances. This includes her native Cameroon where internet cuts spurred by the Anglophone crisis, the phone tax and most recently, Mobile Money tax imposed on citizens of her country of origin.
Enonchong has been instrumental in the growth and advancement of the continent’s economic landscape.
