CAF Champions league: PWD of Bamenda narrows qualification chances

David Pagou, Coach of Public Works Department – PWD social club says chances of the club to qualify for the next round of eliminatory have been narrowed.

“PWD of Bamenda has 30% chances to qualify ” David Pagou stated, Sunday November 29th following a zero to one defeat PWD suffered in the hands of Kaizer Chiefs of Soweto South Africa.

To the coach, the Abakwa boys performed well during trainings and other friendlies but lost confidence in themselves while playing against Kaizer Chiefs at Limbe Omnisport stadium.

The 50 year football trainer equally blames Cameroon football officials for a halt to local football championship as they tussle for leadership at the helm of football. “Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa have played five champion league matches in their country before coming to Cameroon. PWD has not played even a match in local championship “

As the Abakwa boys prepare for an away leg in Soweto in the days ahaed, David Pagou is optimistic that victory is still an option for PWD FC of Bamenda.

“They came here and scored one. We lost a penalty. We will go to South Africa and if the boys beat fear and concentrate in playing what they know, we can have a good match. “

PWD’s last participation in a continental competition was in 2004.
