Cameroon: Boko Haram explodes military vehicle killing at least six

Six Cameroonian soldiers have died after their vehicle exploded on a mine planted by members of the Boko Haram sect in Hiteré, a neighborhood in Mayo Moskota, Mayo Tsanaga Division of the Far North Region.

The vehicle which carried a total of 8 soldiers was attacked yesterday Monday, April 24, 2023.

“The soldiers were returning to their posts in Tchébétchébé when they came across a mine at Carrefour Hiteré,” a source told MMI.

The explosion claimed the lives of six with two survivors who are currently in a critical condition, after sustaining severe injuries during the explosion.

This comes a few days after another Boko Haram attack in the region left one soldier dead, several kidnapped and hundreds of houses burnt to ashes.
