Cameroon: Boko Haram Strikes Kolofata in New Raid

In 2018 President Paul Biya announced that the Boko Haram terrorist group that has been causing chaos in it’s Far North region had been defeated on Cameroon soil.

Two years later and Cameroon’s conflict with the sect is far from over.

Though it lost its base in Cameroon, the group has managed to keep making occasional incursions to cause damage in the Far North Region.

On the night of May 18th to 19th 2020, the sect struck again, attacking Kolofata.

Targeting different localities, they attacked Tolkomari at 10 PM, Blabline village at 1:30 AM and Cheripouri at around 4 AM.

An internal memo reveals that on the same night, they also visited Glada village in Mora at 2 AM.

The internal memo indicates that they raided several homes, making away with telephones, mats, foodstuff and clothing.

Thousands remain displaced due to the conflict.
