A man and his lover have been arrested in Abang, in the Centre region of Cameroon for drug trafficking.
According to information published on the Cameroon Gendarmerie Facebook account, the couple was arrested in the early hours of Friday, July 28, 2023, thanks to an operation by officers of the Nkolnda Gendarmerie.
“This operation led to the discovery of a cannabis plantation over an area of 200 m2, belonging to a 45-year-old individual and his 52-year-old companion,” stated the post.
After having toured the plantation, the gendarme officers carried out a search of the suspects’ homes. “A large stock of cannabis was seized, approximately 200 kg”, we learn.
The two accomplices were presented yesterday before the Public Prosecutor, near the Court of First Instance of Mfou to answer for their actions.
