Cameroon’s president, Paul Biya has chaired the summit of The Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC). The virtual summit was hosted by Cameroon. Mr Biya who rushed home yesterday after a month-long stay in Europe chaired the sitting through a video conference.


Following President Paul Biya’s return home, many ministers and government dignitaries remain on edge, as rumours of a cabinet reshuffle loom. On previous occasions, the president has often made changes to his government shortly after returning home from trips abroad.


One separatist fighter has been killed and another handed over to security forces in Wum, Menchum Division of Cameroon’s North-West Region. Both men were arrested by a vigilante group, reports say, as they tried to kidnap a business man.


Dozens have been killed in an attack on a military post in the locality of Afade in the Logone and Chari Division of Cameroon’s Far North Region. The attack coordinated by the Boko Haram extremist sect left many dead and others injured on both sides.


Two Cameroonians are behind bars in Libreville, Gabon after being arrested for trafficking fake bank notes. The duo is said to have brought the counterfeit money from Cameroon to spend in Gabon.


Cameroon will face Burkina Faso in the opening game of the 2021 African Cup of Nations on January 9, 2022. This was revealed at the competition’s draw which just ended in Yaounde.
