The former Director General of Cameroon’s drinking water supply company (CAMWATER), Jean William Sollo has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.

He was sentenced this Wednesday, June 13, 2023, by the Special Criminal Court.

According to reports, he was initially prosecuted in a procedure linked to that of the former Minister of Water and Energy Basile Atangana Kouna.

“Jean William Sollo was tried for embezzlement of several million FCFA in the context of over-invoicing and poor management of public contracts when he was Director General of the public company,” stated an MMI French reporter.

Jean William Sollo managed CAMWATER for a period of 4 years, from 2012 to 2016.
