Dozens of passengers left Douala for Yaoundé today onboard the recently inaugurated Express Train, but arrived by bus.
After an interruption at Eseka, the passengers that left Douala at 6 a.m had to continue the rest of their journey in buses made available by CAMRAIL.
Reports say the railway company blamed the incident on a cargo train incident that left the track blocked, making it impossible for the passenger train to pass.
The return trip to Yaounde was further pushed to 7 pm instead of the expected 2:30 pm, a 5 hour delay.
The first glitch in the transport mechanism comes just a week after the train service was inaugurated.
