The minister of Labour and social security, Grégoire Owona has cancelled Labour Day March past in the country.
The decision is contained in a release issued recently. In the said decision, Minister Grégoire Owona annuled any form of match past for the 136th celebration of the International Labour Day on May 1st, 2022 in Cameroon.
This according to him, is in a bid to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, in line with the Labour day’s central theme ” Combating COVID-19, safeguarding jobs and ensuring productivity”.
Many have questioned the action, citing the 11 February Youth day celebrations and upcoming National Day march past on May 20th, 2022.
