Christians of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses have ended a successful regional convention at the Japoma stadium in Douala, in the Littoral Region of Cameroon.

This gathering of worshipers witnessed the attendance of more than fifty thousand Christians from across the Littoral, North West, West, and South West Regions. The program lasted 3 days and ran from July 7 to July 9, 2023.

The convention featured talks and illustrations in English, French, and Pidgin English. The denomination also received at least 700 new members who got baptized during the convention.

The convention was the very first mass gathering of Jehovah’s Witness Christians during the post-COVID-19 lockdown. The same program is expected to take place in Yaounde from July 21–23, 2023.

It will take place at the Olembe Football stadium, with over 30,000 Christians expected from the Far North, Adamawa, East, and Center regions in attendance.

“We thank God for a successful event,” said a Jehovah’s Witness member after the event.

Jehovah’s Witnesses is a millenarian restorationist Christian denomination with nontrinitarian beliefs distinct from mainstream Christianity.

Statistics show that Between 15-20 million people in 240 countries are attending these conventions.

As of 2022, the group reported a worldwide membership of approximately 8.5 million adherents involved in evangelism, with 19.7 million attending the annual Memorial of Christ’s Death.
