Cameroon: Joseph Le reveals Minister of Mines was killed, warns countrymen against eliminating one another

By Tata Mbunwe

The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Joseph Le, has revealed that the late Minister of Mines and Technological Innovation, Gabriel Dodo Ndoke, was killed.

Minister Le was speaking in Batouri, East Region, over the weekend during a funeral ceremony for the late Minister, whom according to health experts, died of cardiac arrest on January 21 in Yaounde.

Joseph Le termed his death a suspicious death.

Minister Gabriel Dodo Ndocke’s death shocked many people, as he had been seemingly well when he interacted with people the day before his demise.

Without revealing who could have killed him, Joseph Le seems to suggest that his late countryman and former Minister was poisoned during a Senatorial Elections preparatory meeting of elites of the East Region, which held hours before his death.

“In the East Region, ladies and gentlemen, as elsewhere, people die. Natural deaths or suspicious deaths. And about the second category of deaths, namely suspicious deaths, we have been wondering a lot here in the East lately,” Joseph Le said in a tribute at the late Minister’s funeral in Batouri.

“We don’t have precise evidence, but we think that these questions can no longer and should no longer remain a taboo subject. And if the suspicions that are whispered turned into proven facts, you can see that this will have and even already has disastrous effects on the image of our beautiful and rich rising sun.

“Suspicious deaths in the East should no longer be taboo subjects. However, to develop our region, we must be united. You don’t rise by first eliminating your brother or sister. Everyone has their place. Everyone his turn.”

The late Dodo Ndocke was reportedly close to Joseph Le and used to address him as “big brother”.

In his tribute, Minister Joseph Le described was “an exemplary, diligent, disciplined and humble politician” who was one of the pillars of development in the East Region.

Minister Le said his death is a blow to the development of the Region, which is among the most underdeveloped in the country.
