Cameroon: Journalist summoned to SED after revealing details behind Martinez Zogo’s death

Xavier Messe, a journalist, and publisher of Le Calame Newspaper, has been summoned to the State Secretariat for the National Gendarmerie (SED) after making some revelations about Martinez Zogo’s death.

According to reports, the newspaper publisher is expected at the SED on Monday, January 29, 2023, for interrogations.

In a recent interview with Radio Balafon, Xavier Messe revealed that Cameroonian journalist Martinez Zogo was killed a few hours after his kidnap.

A revelation that caused a stir on social media platforms.

The body of the Amplitude Fm radio station manager Martinez Zogo was found mutilated in Soa, a suburb of the city of Yaoundé on January 22 after he had been declared kidnapped on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Meanwhile, journalists, human rights advocates, artists, and others have urged the government to launch a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators of the heinous act to justice.
