The commander of RMIA task force 5 Bamenda Appolinier Lion, has killed a colleague and dumped his corpse in the bush in Belo, Boyo Division of the North West region.

Appolinier shot dead Sergeant Meiganga following a quarrel over the sharing of money stolen from civilian homes during military raids in the locality.

The corpse according to reports was only discovered on June 30, 2023

“They engaged in a quarrel concerning ammunition and how to share the money they happened to have taken from a house during their operation in Big Babanki. Appolinier shot his colleague three times with his gun, then abandoned him in a bush towards Belo in Boyo division of the North West region” a military source told MMI.

A local source who overhead discussions in the ranks of soldiers in Belo told MMI that,

“The same team of security forces who carried out operations in Big Babanki recently, are the same ones who moved to Belo in Kom, burning and looting properties. It’s unfortunate that one of them killed his colleague over the money they happened to have taken from a home in Big Babanki. That is what I overheard the colleagues saying in the Belo square.”

The corpse of Sergeant Meiganga MMI learned, was airlifted and deposited in a mortuary in Bamenda.

The deceased has left behind a wife who delivered a baby recently

Meanwhile, unconfirmed sources say the killer has been arrested for investigations.

Commander Appolinier Lion MMI gathered, has a record of extra-judicially executing his colleagues.

“He is the same person who executed a senior police officer Oumaila Dabo and his colleague,  Adam Assana in 2019 in the Far North region of Cameroon. He was detained at the Yaoundé prison, unfortunately, no one knows how he was reintegrated into the army again.” an inside source revealed to MMI.
