Cameroon: MRC leader Maurice Kamto says Biya’s government has failed Cameroonians

Professor Maurice Kamto, President of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement Party(MRC) has said that Biya’s government has failed Cameroonians in different capacities.

He made the declaration during a meeting held this Saturday at the “Wemble” stadium in Mendong in Yaoundé.

He started by mentioning the high cost of living which has become a big problem for so many Cameroonians today. Since the start of 2023, prices of basic commodities gave Skyrocketed and this is one of the things that Prof Maurice Kamto criticized.

“Since the end of the AFCON, we have suffered the pangs of the high cost of living,” said Prof Maurice Kamto, as he proposed,” a general increase in wages to allow Cameroonian households to gain some purchasing power”.

Maurice Kamto in his meeting equally highlighted the anglophone crisis noting that there is a need for the anglophone crisis to be addressed and brought to an end. The said crisis has so far claimed thousands of lives and displaced at least one million Cameroonians both Internally and out of the country.

This was the first that the MRC party was given the authorization to hold such a meeting since the 2018 presidential elections. Several previous meetings organized by Kamto were either disrupted or his supporters were surprised and arrested.

The MRC leader maintained that he is the winner of the 2018 presidential election in Cameroon. According to him, Paul Biya and the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement-CPDM Party stole the victory from him.

He concluded by saying that at this point, Cameroon is being ruled by incompetent leaders.
