The North West region joins the rest of the African continent to mark this year’s African Statistics Day today November 17, 2021. The day seeks to raise public awareness of the importance of statistics in all aspects of social life and economic life.
In the North West region, getting statistics has always posed a big problem for public structures most of which are yet to make use of digital and modern methods of keeping statistics.
This causes cause frustration in the users of these services and often zap through files of hard copy documents which are sometimes in bad shape and can’t provide complete information.
Access to statistics in the region has been rendered difficult by the current sociopolitical crisis wherein insecurity and rampant roadblocks have made getting access to statistics from the various divisions very difficult.
