A man who is yet to be identified has been lynched by the population in Bazou, a town in the West Region of Cameroon after stabbing a man for attempting to separate a fight in which he was involved.
Reports from Bazou have it that the young man was passing by when he noticed the ongoing fight between his alleged killer and another young man.
He then decided to intervene — and put an end to the squabble.
“While he tried to stop the two from fighting, he was stabbed by one of them with a sharp object. His killer then attempted to escape but was apprehended by the population,” a source disclosed.
The killer was later put under tires and set ablaze by the angry mob. He died on the spot, a source told MMI.
The corpse of the stabbed victim has been placed at a local mortuary.
