Public Health Minister, Dr. Manaouda Malachie has signed a communique calling on Cameroonians to participate in a nationwide vaccination campaign against covid-19, 20 days to kickoff of the 33rd edition of the African Nations Cup, AFCON2021.

The campaign is said to begin today, December 20, 2021, and is aimed at giving Cameroonians eligibility to access footballing arenas in the national territory from January 9 to February 6, 2022.

While noting that the vaccination targets Cameroonians ranging from 18 years and above, the release states that the process of vaccination will be decentralized to accredited health facilities, churches, chiefdoms, and even marketplaces.

Minister Manaouda says to easily give Cameroonians the opportunity to get tested as well as vaccinated, vaccination posts will be permanently installed at AFCON ticketing spots.

The document highlights some two million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, in conjunction with some 2.5 million PCR and RDT tests available.

The minister calls on Cameroonians to massively troop into the various accredited facilities to get vaccinated during this period.
