Cameroon: after Douala, Sanaga-Maritime SDO limits working hours for bikers

Cyrille Yvan Abondo, the Senior Divisional Officer of Sanaga-Maritime Division in the Littoral Region has prohibited the circulation of motorcycles from 2AM to 6AM in the town of Edea.

According to a release signed by the SDO, the decision goes into effect immediately till January 3, 2022.

Cyrille Yvan Abondo failed to mention the reasons for the ban in the above-mentioned release — but major cities in Cameroon have been plagued by Insecurity.

This comes a few days after the Governor of the Littoral Region Region banned the circulation of motorcycles at night.

The ban was is a bid to combat the operations of “Les microbes.”
