Cameroon Senatorial Elections: Polls open In Mezam

Councillors in Mezam, North West Region of Cameroon have been casting the ballots to elect Senatos who will represent them at the Upper House of Parliament for the next five years.

The region has two lists, the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement (CPDM) and the Social Democratic Front (SDF).

Voting is taking place at the premises of the North West Regional Delegation of Water Resources and Energy.

Voting started at exactly 8:am. Mimi Mefo Info is also gathering that councillors who make up the electoral college are entitled to the sum of 50.000 FCFA each after voting.

Voting is taking place under very tight security with soldiers everywhere. This is in response to the threats made by Ambazonia separatists who promised to disrupt the elections.
