Cameroon: The Senior Women’s National Football Team gets new trainer

By Amina Hilda

Jean Baptiste Bisseck, coach of Coton Sports Garoua, has been appointed the new trainer of the Senior Women’s National Football Team of Cameroon.

He was appointed on Friday, August 18, 2023, in a statement issued by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

Ndoumou Mike Josephine was also named as his assistant on the Senior Women’s National Football Team.

Some of those appointed are Ndongo Fouda Adrienne Clémence, coach in charge of goalkeepers, and Ndougsa Engelbert, coach in charge of physical preparation.

According to some social media users, appointing a local coach is a step in the right direction. Normally, our coaches must be Cameroonians who have proven in our local championship… Well deserved, coach! We have seen your works,” Christopher Dada wrote on Facebook.

Another social media user celebrates the appointment of a woman as an assistant coach, describing it as deserving. “The assistant coach fully deserves her place, she knows women’s football, it must be said.”

Before his appointment, Jean Baptiste Bisseck had served as coach of; Coton Sport of Garoua, Léopard Sportif of Douala, and Canon Sportif of Yaoundé.
