The accident occurred when a heavy duty truck collided with the motorcycle, crushing the riders on it.

The rider and his passenger whose identities MMI is still to get, were pronounced dead at the scene.

“The truck was carrying a load of gravel when it lost control and veered into the opposite lane. The motorbike was unable to avoid the truck and was struck head-on and both passenger and bike rider were crushed to death” reported an eyewitness present at the scene.

The truck driver reported to be fine is currently nowhere to be found as he immediately fled the scene to avoid the wrath of the local population.

Accidents are rampart across Cameroon with many blaming the poor nature of the roads as the main cause.

The authorities have failed to react to the endemic problem which some say is claiming more lives than armed conflicts.
