Caiman Filles de Douala will take on Canon Filles de Yaounde from 3:30pm Saturday, November 14th 2020 at the Bepanda Annex Stadium in Douala. The match will officially mark the kick-off of what will henceforth been refered to as “Guiness Women Super League”.

Earlier programed to start in September 2020, the Women football championship had been suspended for eight months in Cameroon following the out break of the coronavirus pandemic.

As a major innovation this football season, players of the championship will receive monthly stipends from the sponsor Guiness Cameroon while awards will be given to outstanding actors of the championship at the end of the season. The move is to encourage female football.

In the domain of visibility, Cameroon’s state run television CRTV will broadcast matches of the women football championship.

The kick off of the women football championship comes when the Cameroon football professional league and FECAFOOT are still tussling over which body has the legitimate right to run the men’s football championship .

As Guinness Cameroon officially takes over the sponsorship of the Women football league, Cameroonians are expected to develop interest in watching matches to encourage players.

Details of the sponsorship agreement remain a secret between officials of Cameroon’s Football and Guiness Cameroon.
