Cameroonian Ph.D. Student Wins Google For Education Funding to Attend International Symposium.

Volviane Saphir Mfogo, a Ph.D. student in cybersecurity at the University of Dschang, has won funding from Google For Education to attend the International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC). The funding, which totals CFAF 1.7 million, will cover Mfogo’s travel and conference registration costs.

PIMRC is a leading scientific event in the field of wireless communications. It will be held from September 3 to 5, 2023 in Montreal, Canada. Mfogo’s research interests include cybersecurity and wireless communications. She is particularly interested in the security of wireless networks.

Mfogo said she is grateful for the Google For Education funding. “This funding will allow me to attend PIMRC and present my research,” she said. “I am excited to share my work with other researchers in the field and to learn from the leading experts in wireless communications.”
