Cameroonian police commissioner accused of drug trafficking, arrested in Chad

The Second Deputy Commissioner of Kousseri in the Logone and Chari Division, Far North of Cameroon, Jean Claude MAINA has been arrested.

The senior uniform officer was arrested on July 30, in Djamena, capital of Chad.

According to reports, the policeman was about to sell illicit goods in Chad when he was apprehended.

The matter was reportedly asked to be be transfered to Cameroon.

This request however was without success, MMI has learnt.

This is not the first time that a man in uniform is being arrested for drug trafficking.

Some few years back in Maroua, a police commissioner was arrested after being denounced by his collaborators.

He had proceeded to the sale of several shipments of tramadol that he had previously seized.
