Some Cameroonians in France have paid homage to the 10 victims of Nacho massacre.

The homage ceremony held on Tuesday, July 18, at the Cameroon Embassy in Paris, France.

On Sunday, July 16th, 2023, the Nacho neighborhood in Bamenda II was thrown in wailing, after armed Separatists Fighters stormed the area and opened fire on unarmed civilians.

At least nine civilians were killed them on the spot and two of them seriously injured.

The tragic incident occurred three days after government forces stormed the same vicinity and killed five fighters – following a tip-off from inhabitants.

In a retaliatory move, the Separatist fighters stormed Nacho junction on Sunday – started shooting indiscriminately – and accusing inhabitants of being ‘blacklegs’.

Among those killed was a couple who wedded barely two months ago. Their corpses were removed from the Bamenda Regional Hospital mortuary this Tuesday and taken to their native village in Cameroon’s West Region.

Many have questioned why these mourners, a majority of whom are government officials have in the past, failed to carryout a similar gesture when soldiers killed civilians in Ngarbuh, Pinyin, Muyuka, Kumba, Manyu and other parts of the Anglophone regions of Cameroon.
