Cameroonians Left in the Dark as Biya’s Plane Yet to Arrive After Leaving China

By Daniel D.

Close to 48 hours since the plane carrying Cameroon’s President Paul Biya departed from Beijing, China, it has yet to land in the nation’s capital, leaving many Cameroonians in suspense.

On Sunday morning, Samuel Mvondo Ayolo, the Director of Civil Cabinet who was traveling with President Biya, announced that the President had left China.

However, he did not specify whether the president was flying directly home or making another stop.

President Biya attended the China-Africa Cooperation Summit in Beijing with several government officials, including the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Territorial Administration.

The summit has since ended, and the president is expected to return to Cameroon.

However, his whereabouts remain unclear, sparking speculation about whether he has made an unscheduled stop elsewhere.

This is not the first time President Biya has gone abroad and remained out of the public eye for an extended period.

Last month, he attended the International Olympic Committee session in Paris, but after the event concluded, he disappeared from public view.

He later resurfaced during a commemoration ceremony for the Allied landings in France.

After that, he again vanished, only returning to the country briefly before departing again for the summit in China.

It remains unknown when the president will return to Cameroon, with citizens left in the dark about his current location.

In the past, Biya has stayed abroad for over 30 days without offering any explanations to the public.
