Mimi Mefo Info has come across an online petition launched by some Cameroonians who are asking the government to lift the suspension on Yango, a revolutionary online taxi service.

At least 1,164 people have already signed the petition, which comes after the government suspended Yango on February 6, on grounds that the service did not comply with existing regulations on urban transport.

“Following the economic inflation and or security (microbes), which would be the cause of the high cost of living and insecurity in Cameroon, we would like the Cameroonian government to study and lift the suspension of Yango Cameroon for security, affordable prices and the jobs created since the arrival of Yango in Cameroon,” the petitioners solicited.

According to the reactions of several Cameroonians, we understand that a ban on Yango could negatively affect the lives of many people — including that of the drivers who make a living from this activity, the partners and above all, the users.

How has the ban on Yango impacted on you?
