Cameroon’s Anglophone Conflict: Bamenda III residents protest killing of businesman

Residents of Mbefi, a locality in Nkwen-Bamenda are protesting against the killing of a businessman.

The streets protest started early this Monday, traditionally observed as ghost town day in the Cameroon’s English-speaking regions where a bloody conflict has claimed thousands of lives in fives — with no end in sight.

Sources say, the deceased business man was pulled out his his shop and shot by armed men believed to be separatist fighters.

The businesman popularly refered to as “Pa Peter” “would later succumbed to the gunshot wounds at the Bamenda regional hospital,” narrates a source.

In protest of the act, Mbefi residents have this morning marched Nfoya Bafut.

During the March, the chanted “enough is enough’. They visited the Nkwen palace with branches in their hands as they wailed.

The entire march was closely watched by the forces of law and order.
