A commercial motorbike rider is said to have lost his life in Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon.
The young man identified as Beltus, reports say, was going about his daily business when he got hit by a Hilux in the Bamenda III Subdivision.
“He went down to challenge the Hilux occupants who were armed. They shot him and left the scene,” a local narrates.
He adds that the rider died as he was rushed to a medical facility.
Beltus is one of several youths shot dead since the Anglophone crisis escalated into an armed conflict four years ago.
While some parts of the regions are fast returning to normalcy, some remain death traps for the belligerents and most especially, civilians.
