Cameroon’s Health Minister Inaugurates newly equipped Mokolo Imagery Center

Cameroon’s Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie, inaugurated the newly equipped imagery center at Mokolo Regional Annex Hospital in the Far North region on Monday, July 10, 2023.

The center is equipped with a CT scanner, an ultrasound machine, an X-ray machine and others fully funded by the government. 

The Minister said “The new imagery center will improve the quality of care at Mokolo Regional Annex Hospital” adding that the center will be used to diagnose a wide range of diseases, including cancer, heart disease, and stroke.

The Minister also noted that “the new imagery center will help to reduce the number of patients who have to travel to Yaounde for treatment” and added that the center will be open to patients from all over the country.

The Director of the Mokolo Regional Annex Hospital corroborated stating that the new imagery center is a major step forward for the hospital. He said that the center will help to improve the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in the region.

The minister has promised a full month of free health campaign for the population of Mayo-Tsanaga and everyone diagnosed with any disease, will be treated for free.

The population has expressed visible satisfaction after receiving the news.
