Cameroon’s North West region: Another Traditional Ruler Kidnapped

News reaching us says HRH Viyouf Nelson Sheteh, Fon of Kedjom Ketinguh (Small Babanki) in the restive North West region of Cameroon has been kidnapped.

The traditional ruler was seized today in the town by unidentified gunmen. Some sources say his kidnappers came onboard a white car and took him to an unknown destination.

Ambazonians fighting for the independence of the English-speaking regions of Cameroon have blamed government forces – while some of the Kedjom villagers have reportedly accused Ambazonians.

This is not the first time a Fon is being kidnapped in the restive North West region where a bloody separatist conflict is unfolding since four years ago.
