Cardinal Tumi freed after night in Amba captivity

Christian Cardinal Tumi has been freed after spending a night in Baba I where he was abducted by amba boys.

Though the conditions for his release are yet to be known, several calls had been launched for his release from several quarters.

Christians of the Kumbo Diocese at the moment of his release were headed for Babessi on foot.

The Bishop of Kumbo however says the Fon is still being held by his captors.

“They were taken in two different directions but the Cardinal has been released,” he says.

They want to hold on and see if the fon has been released but they are going to have all kinds of complicated traditional things. We don’t know where the Fon is at the moment,” the Bishop told MMI moments ago.
