The archbishop emeritus of the metropolitan archdiocese of Douala will be buried in the Saint Peter and Paul’s Cathedral Douala Tuesday, April 20th, 2021.
This has been disclosed to Mimi Mefo Info by the curate of Mount Carmel Parish Congo Douala.
Pamkrasius Nform says “Cardinal Tumi will be buried at the Cathedral for one reason. The cathedral in Latin language means the chair and a Bishop is the head of the church where he works so when he dies, he is buried in the “chair” (cathedral)”.
The curate says Cardinal Tumi will be the fifth bishop that will be buried at the Saint Peter and Paul’s Cathedral in Douala.
To Patrick Ndengue, a Catholic Christian, the tomb of Cardinal Tumi in the church will be a blessing to Christians that will constantly go there to pray for him to intercede for their sins.
Hundreds have gathered at the premises of the Cathedral since the early hours of Monday, April 19th to pay their last homage to a man they describe as a yardstick of moral rectitude and spirituality.
