Catholic priests of Buea Diocese defeat counterparts of Kumba diocese 2-1 in friendly football encounter

The friendly football match between Priests of the Dioceses of Buea and Kumba has ended in a 2-1 defeat.

Priests from Buea trampled on those from Kumba in match that took place Thursday January 26, 2023 at Middle Farms Stadium in Limbe, Fako Division of the south west region.

The lone goal scored by the Kumba Diocese was through a penalty.

Bishop Bibi of the Buea Diocese who emerged man of the match said his desire is “to take this to other dioceses across Cameroon.”

Prior to the match Priest from Kumba braced up in a training session in a bid to emerge victorious but unfortunately.

“It’s very rare to have Priests play together out of the seminary because people are in different parishes,” said Rev Fr Raphael Kolle during a training session ahead of the match.

According to him, “It is an opportunity for us to keep fit.”

The match was watched by the Bishop of Kumba, Agapitus Fon and the Bishop of Buea, Michael Bibi.
