Joy and celebration characterized the atmosphere at the launching of a new police post donated by a traditional ruler to the Bafia community, alongside a police pickup truck.

The donation was recently made by HM Charles Booto A Ngon, a traditional ruler in the Centre region of Cameroon. in the presence of the Governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea.

According to HM Ngon, the donation was mainly to curb the rising crime rate in the town:

“Criminality is more and more present in our society. Traditional authorities and administrative authorities have to put their hands together to fight against this phenomenon,” he said.

He equally expressed his determination in helping to fight,”…this problem of criminality in our city.”

The gesture was applauded by Governor Naseri who highlighted that it is going to help, “…dissuade those who will want to carry out acts of criminality around. “

According to the governor, the police post will equally serve as shelter for police officers during the rainy and dry seasons.

The donation comes at a time when kidnappings, rampant murder and theft are gradually gaining ground in the Centre region of Cameroon as well as other parts of the country.
