A lady has taken many by surprise, narrating the suffering she has gone through in her marital home.
Mourijanatou, 21, was born and raised in the North West region, till she was 13 years old when she says her father sold her into marriage to a 50-year-old man in Douala.

It was on Equinox TV, on the program ‘Regarde Sociale’ with Flavien Ndongo that Mourijanatou opened up on her 8-year long ordeal in her matrimonial home.

She revealed that she was deceived by her dad when taking her to Douala that she was going to meet her uncle with whom she could live with and continue her education.

“My father ruined my life he sold me into an early marriage at just 13 years old. He told me I was going to further my studies in Douala with his elder brother in Douala but that was not the case. I had basically been sold by my father” grieved Mourijanatou.

Mourijanatou says she hadn’t fully realised the essence of her going to Douala till she was confronted by the old man whom she thought was her uncle demanding for sex.

The young girl who had then just seen her period for the first time as an adolescent was then raped by the old man. “He came into my room that same day I came and started hugging me. I refused and he told me he had bought me from my father and that I was his property. When I objected further, he slapped me and called his first wife who came in and tied my mouth then held me tight and opened my legs wide. I was then raped with my menses still flowing. I didn’t know what the blood coming out of me was back then. I thought I was infected” narrated Mourijanatou.

Mourijanatou added that she has since been constantly abused throughout her stay in the man’s house.

Whenever she tried escaping, she would be held back by the first wife. “His first wife always monitored me and told the man about all my movements. She was his accomplice” she said.

Mourijanatou who now has 3 children for the man said on Equinox that she was often locked in the house and was also never taken to the clinic when she was pregnant until she was 7 months pregnant for all of her three babies.

The abuse incurred by Morijanatou was near to evil as she revealed the man she had been forced to marry would not sleep with her unless she was on her period: “… he didn’t touch me whenever I was not on my period. If he is so desperate for sex, he would cut my belly with a blade so that he could see blood. And when he finishes he cleans the blood with a particular cloth. There are times he brings a certain native doctor to sleep with me. The first time he did that and I refused, he whipped me seriously and cut my arm with a knife” she tearfully explained.

Mourijanatou who has now ran away from her husband’s house has said “… I’d rather die than go back there. All I am asking now is for people of goodwill to help me get out of this bondage. I want a legal divorce from this man if not I will die in his hands” she pleaded on TV.

Many have since taken to social media seeking the intervention of social services.
