City Chemist Roundabout: Curse or blessing to Bamenda?

Situated in the Bamenda 2 subdivision in the North West region of Cameroon, City Chemist Roundabout is an unavoidable junction for city-dwellers.

Popular for numerous economic activities, today some believers of Jesus Christ say City Chemist Roundabout is a seat of a demonic altar of destruction and bloodshed put in place since 1992.

According to Gabsa Glory, coordinator of a group of Christians calling on God for peace in Bamenda, “… the demonic altar was planted at Bamenda’s City Chemist Roundabout in 1992 when a group of women called “Takeumbeng” marched there naked. Twenty-eight years after, the spillover effect of such a practice is still hunting Bamenda and the people that live in the city”.

The Christians hold that insecurity in Bamenda since 2016 is partly because of evil covenants signed with evil creatures for political benefits.

Pastor Buikeh Rene states that “We are rededicating the city of Bamenda to the Lord. We silence all evil accords that are promoting insecurity in Bamenda powerless “.

Using anointing oil as a spiritual weapon, the Christians preaching and praying at the City Chemist Roundabout poured the oil and called on God to take over the city.

The origin of trouble in Bamenda, as stated by the Christians, contradicts pro-ambazonia activists who think the continuous marginalization of anglophones by anglophones is the cause.

After the prayers, inhabitants of Bamenda are impatiently waiting to see positive changes.
