Enormous human and material losses have been recorded after security forces engaged a serious gunfight with pro independence fighters in Ngarum, one of the villages in Ndu, Donga Mantung Division North West region of Cameroon.
Reports say five civilians were shot dead, amongst them, is a woman whose name we got as Mashey Beri, a palm wine tapper (shot earlier today) and three other civilians.
An Amba fighter was also shot dead and two soldiers.
The military which later came for backup proceeded to set houses, vehicles and stores in Ngarum on fire, a source in Ngarum narrated.
It followed closed to 24 hours of Shootings which began early Tuesday October 23rd, 2018.
Calm has not returned to Ngarum as there are fears casualties of today’s confrontation may rise in the coming hours.
The village is almost deserted as locals have escaped to unknown destinations for safety.
