Civilians living in Babanki, Ngoketunjia Division of the North West region are caught between the proverbial devil and deep blue sea.

This comes after an attack by separatist fighters yesterday left many soldiers dead. In retaliation, the army is said to have visited the locality, molesting any civilians they could find.

Given the ongoing lockdown instituted by separatist fighters, civilians say they are trapped, as any action they take results in casualties.

Unable to move, they remain hunted by the army, as two persons have reportedly been shot this morning.

Reports say one of the victims, Ngunembom Pascal has been rushed to hospital for medical care.

In the aftermath of yesterday’s bloody attack on the army, many have taken to social media to condemn the move.

Among them is politician, Serge Espoire Matomba who said it was a disgrace to the country’s democracy.

PCRN Member of Parliament, Nourane Foster has also lent her voice, expressing solidarity with the army.

The army however is yet to make any statement regarding the attack.
