A Cameroonian youth based in Douala has called on Cameroon’s defense and security forces to rise up and save the country from decades of bad governance and tyranny.

In an open letter sent to Mimi Mefo Info, the young Cameroonian who opted for anonymity assures the state forces of the support of the people if they do the needful.

Hear him: “I am a young Cameroonian in Douala. I want to talk about the suffering of anglophones in this part of the town. It really hurts seeing human beings treated unfairly.

“The cause of all these things is because of the crisis in the Northwest and Southwest region of Cameroon. I want to state it clear here that if Cameroon is failing today, it is because of the military, the police and gendarmes. They have failed to protect the citizens of this nation Cameroon and are rather supporting those who are stealing public money and resources. They must stop protecting a thieving regime.

“One question to all of them is: Do they really love leaving their families behind in the name of going to fight separatists? Why don’t they stop those people who are manipulating them and making them to kill their own brothers?

“They should look at their own families whether they are going to the best schools as those of the ministers they are protecting.

“It is time for all of the military, police and gendarmes to say enough is enough and go behind those stealing our resources in order to protect our constitution.

“They have all the power it takes to stop the suffering in this country. We are asking them to really look at the transport network, the poor infrastructural situation, the high unemployment rate, poor economy since 1972. Is this what we deserve as a nation?

“We the youths of this Nation Cameroon are behind the defense and security forces if they do the needful. Dear soldiers, help Cameroon! We need change!”
