Locals who have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine are patiently waiting for the second dose of the vaccine.
Dr. Kingsley Che Soh, North West Regional Delegate of Public Health who revealed that close to 30.000 people in the region have received the vaccine has stated that the AstraZeneca vaccine is out of stock in the region but other vaccines are available.
Several persons who were administered the first dose of the vaccine and returned for the second dose were simply informed that the vaccine is not available.
“I was told that the vaccine is not available. I am just confused,” one of them said.
Dr. Kingsley Che Soh says the situation will be addressed in the days ahead.
“Within the next couple of weeks, we are going to receive a consignment of AstraZeneca vaccine and that is going to permit us to vaccinate all those who had received the first dose”, he said.
Close to 6.000 people have received full doses of the Johnson and Johnson, Sinorpham, and AstraZeneca vaccine.
